SKALE PRIVATE LIMITED (Company No. PV00279603), trading as SKALE (“SKALE”, “we”, “us”, “our”), builds and supports websites, online stores, point of sale, CRM and ERP systems, AI tools and cloud hosting for businesses. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit builtbyskale.com, contact us, apply for a role, or work with us as a client. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- When you contact us: your name, email address, phone number, business name and whatever you tell us about your project, by email, phone or in person.
- When you apply for a role: your name, contact details, CV, portfolio and anything else you send with your application.
- When you are a client: contact and billing details for the people we work with, and the information needed to deliver and invoice the project.
- When you browse our website: standard technical information your browser sends, such as IP address, browser type, device and the pages requested, which our hosting provider records in server logs.
We don't sell personal information, and we only ask for what we need.
Cookies and similar technology
Our website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. It stores one small setting in your browser for the current session (whether you have closed a welcome bar), which is deleted when you close the tab. Our fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when the page loads; see Google’s privacy policy.
How we use it
- To reply to enquiries, prepare quotes and deliver the work you ask us for.
- To invoice, keep business records and meet our legal and tax obligations.
- To assess job applications.
- To keep our website and the systems we host secure and working.
- To tell you about changes to services you use with us. We will only send marketing if you have agreed to it, and you can opt out at any time.
Data we handle for our clients
When we build, host or support a system for a client (for example a CRM, online store or POS), that system may hold personal information about the client’s own customers, staff or contractors. The client controls that information and their privacy policy applies to it. We only access it to build, host, support and secure the system, as agreed with the client, and we don’t use it for our own purposes.
Who we share it with
- Service providers who help us run the business, such as hosting and cloud providers, email, payment processing and accounting. They may only use the information to provide their service to us.
- Authorities where the law requires it.
- A buyer or successor if our business is sold or restructured, under the same protections.
Some of our providers store data outside Australia. When that happens we take reasonable steps to make sure the information is protected to a standard similar to the Australian Privacy Principles.
Security and retention
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and keeping systems up to date. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security. We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires, and then delete or de-identify it.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Email us and we will respond within 30 days. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, contact us first so we can fix it. If you are still not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
